So my wife saw a post from the Bourbon Women Facebook Page with a recipe for a chocolate and peanut butter cocktail called Mama’s Secret Stash (see below) and I immediately wanted to make it. Unfortunately, the local liquor stores don’t stock peanut butter whiskey. I decided to get creative and work with what I could get.
Doesn’t this post just make you drool?
While peanut butter whiskey was not available my local liquor store, Seaside Liquors, did have a peanut butter vodka from NutLiquor, yes I know the name is unfortunate, and they did have a Dekuyper dark creme de cocoa which both sounded promising.
It took a couple of tries to get the ratios right and the Instagram post of my first attempt looked good but was entirely too sweet and left me wanting more peanut butter flavor. After three or four attempts, over a week or so, not the same day, I finally found a recipe I liked.
- 1.5 oz NutLiquor peanut butter vodka
- .5 oz Dekuyper dark creme de cocoa
- 1 dash Bittercube cherry bark vanilla bitters
- 2 dashes Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters
Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with mini Reese peanut butter cup.
